Ask your doctor for nuerontin (gabapentin) its similar to Lyrica (pregabalin) but without the weight gain side effects and not as potent. You need much higher doses to get similar effects. They say 75mg twice a day of Pregabalin is equivalent to 300mg three times a day of Gabapentin. I personally had the same problem as you – the Pregabalin caused weight gain but was a wonder drug for my pain – and I sadly had to come off it. I went onto 300mg three times a day of Gabapentin and had to increase to 600mg three times a day to get any where near the same effect, but you can take much much higher doses than I take. Gabapentin can make you drowsy and foggy headed for a week or so – so be prepared, but the feeling wears off once your body adjusts. It is a very safe drug with minimal side effects and minimal interactions with other drugs and it has been around a fair while. I personally would recommend a referral to a pain specialist for correct dosing and treatment.

My weight has skyrocketed since i started lyrica!! thank goodnss someone else has finally had the same side effect..i tried the massage thing, it made my pain UNBEARABLE!!!!! never again! same with the chiropractor.
ultram has done nothing for me..tylenol or alleve does more for me.
i am still taking it, but only 2x a day 50mg. my stomach seems to still be swollen,even though i eat very little. its weird. but the alternative pain is not tolerable for me..i’d rather live with the weight. hope you find something. let me know!!!
